What are the requirements for adhesives in pesticide packaging?

Due to the complex composition of pesticides, there are water-soluble pesticides and oil-based pesticides, and there are also significant differences in their corrosiveness. Previously, pesticide packaging was mostly done in glass or metal bottles. Considering the inconvenience of transporting bottled pesticides and the fact that the current flexible packaging structure materials can adapt to pesticide packaging, using plastic flexible packaging bags to package pesticides is also a development trend.

At present, there is no dry composite polyurethane adhesive that can be 100% applied to pesticide packaging bags in China and even in the world without any delamination or leakage problems. It can be said that pesticide packaging has relatively high overall requirements for adhesives, especially in terms of corrosion resistance, oil resistance, and the ability to withstand solvents such as xylene. The prerequisite for producing pesticide packaging bags is that the inner layer meets the requirements of the substrate, has good barrier performance and corrosion resistance. Secondly, it is required that the adhesive has strong corrosion resistance. Adaptability testing must be conducted during the production process, which involves packaging the produced packaging bags with insecticides and placing them in a high-temperature curing room at around 50 degrees Celsius for a week to check if the packaging bags are intact and undamaged. If they are intact, it can basically be determined that the packaging structure can accommodate this pesticide. If layering and leakage occur, it indicates that the insecticide cannot be packaged.
