Operating procedures and precautions for the use of solvent-free laminating adhesive

Before producing solvent-free composite, it is necessary to carefully read the production process documents and the requirements and precautions for the ratio of solvent-free adhesive, usage temperature, humidity, curing conditions, and process parameters. Before production, it is necessary to ensure that the adhesive products used are free from abnormalities. Once any abnormal phenomena affecting viscosity are found, they should be immediately stopped and communicated with the company’s technical personnel. Before using the solvent-free laminating machine, it is necessary to preheat the mixing system, gluing system, and laminating system in advance. Before the production of solvent-free composite, it is necessary to ensure that the surface of the rubber rollers, rigid rollers, and other components of the equipment on the solvent-free composite machine is clean.

Before starting up, it is necessary to confirm again whether the quality of the composite product meets the requirements of composite production. The surface tension of the film should generally be greater than 40 dynes, and the surface tension of BOPA and PET films should be greater than 50 dynes. Before mass production, the reliability of the film should be tested through experiments to avoid risks. Check for any deterioration or abnormalities in the adhesive. If any abnormalities are found, discard the adhesive and clean the mixing machine. After confirming that there are no abnormalities in the adhesive, use a disposable cup to check whether the mixing machine ratio is correct. Production can only proceed after the ratio deviation is within 1%.

During the production process, it is necessary to confirm the product quality. After normal compounding of 100-150m, the machine should be stopped to confirm whether the composite appearance, coating amount, tension, etc. of the product meet the requirements. During the production process, all process parameters, including environmental temperature, humidity, composite substrate, and equipment process parameters, should be recorded to facilitate the tracing and identification of quality issues.

The technical parameters such as the usage and storage environment of the adhesive, the usage temperature, operating time, and ratio of the solvent-free adhesive should refer to the product technical manual. The humidity in the workshop environment should be controlled between 40% -70%. When the humidity is ≥ 70%, communicate with the company’s technical personnel and appropriately increase the isocyanate component (KangDa New Material A component), and confirm it through small-scale testing before formal batch use. When the environmental humidity is ≤ 30%, communicate with the company’s technical personnel and appropriately increase the hydroxyl component (B component), and confirm it through testing before batch use. The product must be handled with care during transportation and loading and unloading, to avoid tipping, collision, and heavy pressure, and to prevent wind and sun exposure. It should be stored in cool, ventilated, and dry conditions, and kept sealed for a storage period of 6 months. After the composite work is completed, the curing temperature range is 35 ° C-50 ° C, and the curing time is adjusted according to the different composite substrates. The curing humidity is generally controlled between 40% -70%.
